The fully independent La Trobe Student Union (LTSU) Advocacy Service was shut down on Friday 13th December, 2024 by the university. This was decided on November 21 by La Trobe Univeristy and without any warning, or transition plan, giving us less than 3 weeks to wind up the service we operated for the last 3 years.

We know this may cause stress and/or have a negative impact on you, and your studies, as well as many other students and we are sorry.

What does this mean for you?

We can no longer provide advocacy support and advice to you.

Where can you get support?

If you would like ongoing support from the new service that the university is setting up,  you can get in touch with their service directly here: https://www.latrobe.edu.au/students/support/advocacy

When will you get support?

La Trobe Student Union does not know how the university plans to operate the new service, nor the specific process, timeline, or approach for transferring and working on your case.

We wish you all the best for your future studies.
