🏥 Know Your Healthcare: Understanding Australia's Health System 🌏💙
🩺 Learn where to go for healthcare support and feel confident accessing services in Australia.
Understanding the Australian healthcare system can be challenging, especially if you're new to the country. Join LTSU and the Multicultural Health & Support Service (MHSS) for a free, in-person information session designed to help international students better understand the healthcare services available to them.
This friendly and informative one-hour presentation will cover GP services, free and low-cost primary healthcare options, mental health support, and reliable places to find trustworthy health information. Delivered in plain English, the session is designed to make healthcare information easier to understand and apply in everyday life.
Following the presentation, students are invited to stay for pizza and networking, providing a great opportunity to connect with fellow students, ask additional questions, and build your support network on campus.
🎉 Your Session Includes:
🩺 An introduction to Australia's healthcare system
👨⚕️ Information about GP services and primary healthcare options
🧠 Guidance on mental health support services available to students
🔍 Trusted sources for reliable health information
❓ A Q&A session to get your healthcare questions answered
🍕 Complimentary pizza and networking opportunities
This session is presented by the Multicultural Health & Support Service (MHSS), a program of the Centre for Culture, Equity and Health (CEH), which works with migrant and refugee communities to make health information easier to understand, culturally relevant, and practical for everyday life.
